The Carnegie Housing Project is hosting a community town hall featuring community theatre skits and an opportunity to learn about the City of Vancouver’s new plan to gentrify the Downtown Eastside (DTES) through its “Uplifting the DTES” motion, which would overturn a decade of community-based planning and open the neighbourhood to profit-driven development by allowing towers up to 32 storeys and reducing affordability requirements for new construction in the neighbourhood.
When: Thursday, November 6 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Vancouver Japanese Language School (487 Alexander Street)
Cost: Free!
