Heat as danger, burning questions, boiling points, pressure. Heat can be spice, passion, comfort, transformation, rebirth. What lights a fire in you? What questions do we need to confront?

On April 2, join Chinatown Today in celebrating the publication of this dynamic new issue. The thirteen contributors to Chinatown Stories vol. 4 each interpreted “heat” in unique and innovative ways. Through poetry, prose, film, audio, and art, they interrogate identity, social pressures, and climate change. On hot asphalt and around steaming dinners, they wrestle with complicated desires, challenging solidarities. In the windows of butcher shops and hidden karaoke rooms, they search for joy.

This event will feature readings and art presentations from Volume 4’s contributors, followed by a Q&A with the artists.

Cantonese interpretation will be provided. For questions or assistance, please email info@chinatown.today.

Thank you to Metro Vancouver for funding the production of Volume 4.
