Last Saturday, the Gain Wah Project hosted a block party hoping to raise awareness of and ideas for the revival of Gain Wah, a year after the fire that displaced 39 residents and closed the restaurant. With traditional music performances, lion dance, fire safety education, free food, and a cake shaped like the Keefer Rooms building, the block party saw dozens of attendees activating the lane just east of Main Street.

The organizers of the block party are inviting attendees who took photos at the event if they might be able to upload them to their google drive. The Gain Wah Project states that if the file is named, the photographer will be credited and notified of how the photo is used.
