The Fire Dragon Festival first came to Vancouver in 1975, but it wasn’t celebrated again until the former Legacy Stewardship Group organized the 2021 Fire Dragon Festival. Since 2022, the Chinatown Celebration Society has been organizing this community celebration, which finds its roots in the Hakka village of Tai Hang in 19th century Hong Kong.
